Seven questions for leaders
Do you let the facts get in the way of a good story? What do you do with people who disagree with you… do you call them names in order to shut them down? Are you open to multiple points of view or you demand compliance and uniformity? [Bonus: Are you willing to walk away from a project or customer or employee who has values that don’t match yours?] Is it okay if someone else gets...

Social Interaction Design: Where are the most...
The short answer is everything. There’s so much left to be explored in this field and I feel like we’ve only dipped a tiny toe into the water. ROI from social media
A market that doesn’t understand the value of something, or “how” to create value with something,  is a market that  demands to understand the ROI from something before they understands what that something is.  Trying to understand ROI from something without  understanding how to create value with something is shortsighted. In other words it represents a devolution in thinking. Social media are...

3 tips for helping the 'hero' learn to delegate
Under pressure to perform, rookie managers often try to be the hero and do all the work themselves. This not only causes burn-out, but can make their neglected team disengage. Here are three tips for teaching a newbie leader how to push work down: Emphasize the importance of delegation. Explain to your new manager that developing staff is as important as financial results. Giving others work is...
